amchi mumbai

Ever wonder how Mumbai seems to be chocking these days despite the effort made by the BMC. With increase in population and pollution, what can be done to make Mumbai breathe fresh air again…it often makes me get lost in thoughts. Ppl live here, earn here, and then complain abt the city which has given them so much... If u dont like the city...no one forces u to stay.
Just yesterday i met an aunt of mine who was complaining bout how mumbai is really a mess. But really do these people who complain so much believe in action. Tell me are you aware of any clubs which ensure the greenery of Mumbai is maintained. How many of you can join hands with me, for that. If we can replant trees and ensure their healthy growth, work out with the government for pollution control, we can make Mumbai a better place to live with all its limitations.
Remember most of the world's biggest cities had this problem too but a few people's efforts have changed things now. Passing on the streets I can see a lot of space that could have easily accumulated a tree. There is a phrase that "Rome was'nt built in a day"...similarily this is going to take long but it would be worth our effort. After all it is for our benefit only. And we would be able to live much healthier lives. ppl complain abt pollution ..why dont those ppl plant a tree on each bday, anniversary per se.if we start thinking in these small scale level ...it will b all green again in no time.
The vehicular population is also increasing day by day, but no one cares. There's practically no place for parking. sigh. while driving u can see ppl coming from 8 directions trying to wriggle thru n creating more chaos. And i just bought a new scooter. And i learnt to ride it and it's totally awesome. And i go speeding sumtimes during early mornings..can't wait till i get my lisence. oh olrite sry got carried away...back to what i was telling you'll.ok one more thing now-a-days banks are giving loans with very low interest and installment basis that is why people are just tempted to buy scooters, bikes and cars even though they can't pay for it later. In Mumbai you can evn find slum ppl having cars. But what happens when they can't pay for it later?? The bank sends goondas to get the money back under any conditions or they take the car back....and those ppl simply at all have to face embaressment from society.
People are just busy making money and turning a deaf ear to the goverments efforts to improve conditions in Mumbai and all thats known to them is complaining..gets me so mad at times.I hate when someone criticizes sumthing thats mine. And this is my city. And however it maybe i still love it.
Roads with potholes, rapes, pollution, slums, speeding vehicles, pileing garbage, choking lakes ... the ppl themselves hardly care. All they know, is the blame game. why no protests for the sad state of the city n traffice. All they can protest abt is ban hindi/eng films and ban ppl from coming here. Is it a solution? y dont those ppl come up n do sumthing realistic rather than only speakin hollow words. Pls before u start complaining and start eating my head just get together n do something. Start by forming an association of local ppl, maintain clean parks, eliminate waste in the proper manner rather than throwing it here and there, protect tress plant more... get your development and transport minister to improve the roads and many other things you cud do.

until then...laters...
